With the recent bad weather causing many matches around the north of England to be abandoned, the immaculate, sand based pitches at AKS have been very busy of late and they will be once again on Thursday 6th December.
With U18 Daily Mail Cup deadlines looming, Hutton GS and Durham School, will play their Round 4 match at the AKS facilities. Neither school could find school or club pitches to play the match on, with many waterlogged or too soft, so AKS has come to their aid.
"It's been a busy 7 days!" said Robbie Jones, the AKS Director of Sport. "The groundsmen at AKS do a fabulous job and despite some atrocious weather recently, the pitches are still in near perfect condition. We have had a number of matches moved to AKS in the last week with our U18 Daily Mail Vase match versus Rossall switched to AKS and yesterday's UCLAN U16 North of England Floodlit Cup match moved from Preston Grasshoppers RUFC to AKS due to waterlogged pitches at both of the other venues. It would appear that the only weather the pitches can't beat is the frost but we are hopeful our matches against Kirkham GS will be on this Saturday."
The Hutton GS v Durham School match kicks off at 2.15pm. Supporters and spectators and more than welcome.
